Best Conference Paper Award

Description: To recognize the most outstanding paper presented at the annual IMEKO TC-19 International Workshop on Metrology for the Sea.
The Best Paper Award will be selected on the basis of the review process and on the paper presentation during the congress. The final assessment and selection criteria will be based on several key parameters, including: technical quality of the paper, authors' knowledge of the field, presentation effectivesess and clarity, engagement in substantive question & answer, etc. Please note that the paper must be presented by one of its Authors.


sensorsThe Best Conference Paper Award is sponsored by Sensors Journal. The award will consist of a certificate and a prize money amounting to 500 CHF.

Basis for Judging: Technical merit, originality, potential impact on the field, clarity of the written paper, and quality of the oral or other presentation.

The award consists of a model of one of Giuseppe Bottiglieri Shipping Company S.p.A. naval vessels type Post-Panama bulkcarrier (cargo ships of 94000 tons capacity that may to transit through the new Panama Canal).

The Best Paper Award dedicated to the memory of Prof. Felice Cennamo will consist in the painting "Vesuvio" by Antonio Del Prete

THE ARTIST: Antonio Del Prete is a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Naples “Federico II”, and a painter from the age of 12 with numerous artistic contributions and awards achieved in his life. His works are present in prestigious institutes such as the Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte in Naple,s some churches and municipal libraries, presented in many contemporary art museums, currently, he paints and works in Naples dedicating himself to experimentation to create modern figurative art in such a way as to be perceived by the blinds.

THE WORK: work made with mixed technique in overlap, painting with canvas painted in oil and superimposed with two acetate plates, the first reproduces several images of the 24-karat gold line depicting Vesuvius which from continuous breaks up to represent the technographic element of an encrypted message. The second plate shows a blue stripe representing the sea, everything is fused into the mink to represent an ideal scenic effect that represents the Gulf of Naples

DONATION: the work was offered without receiving any compensation for being in solidarity with the prize that the Scientific Society decided to deliver in memory of Prof. Felice Cennamo.

Description: A certificate will be given for the two best papers authored and presented by researchers younger than 35 years in age.

geosciencesThe Best Paper Presented by a Young Researcher is sponsored by Geosciences Journal. The award will consist of a certificate and a prize money amounting to 300 CHF.
Two papers will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony.
